1. the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level:
We are here, in this space and time in these forms, for not even a blink in the universal history. We must make it a priority to manage our lives and resources for future generations, species and whatever else may come. Let us not be cosmic gluttons – black holes had that job long before us.
1. recognize the full worth of.
2. understand (a situation) fully; recognize the full implications of
Do you recognize the full worth of your potential? What about the potential of your partner? Your friends, colleagues, children? How do you show that? How do you encourage that? If to appreciate is a verb – How can make more of an action out of it.
I believe to appreciate is more that simply actively thinking about what someone, or something, is. I believe there is an action to follow that nourishes the potential – vocalization to a child of their genius, a love note in your partners lunch on their first day of work, a prayer of thanks over an animal who will feed your family, a moment  of silence to be awed in the presence of a looming tree that has seen more years than you can imagine.
To recognize: “acknowledge the existence, validity, or legality of.”
1. bring (something) into existence.
2. cause to happen as a result of one’s actions.
To bring into existence – what a powerful action. Whether it be a life, an idea, piece or art or a way of living. To create is a great power – I wonder if we hold the responsibility as sacred as we should. In this world of instant messaging, open source data, free publishing – are we appreciating the full implications of what we create?
1. to inform
2. give intellectual, moral, and social instruction to
To give – that is the key. I believe this something that should be done freely, without expectation. If you decide to give freely, without expectation of monetary gain, without expectation of praise and glory, without expectation that the recipient will use or further give – then you have done your part.
